Anja Sigesmund

Anja Sigesmund is an experienced professional in the field of geodata and digitalization, currently serving as Fachreferentin für Geodaten at Stadt Wuppertal since May 2024. Prior to this role, Anja worked at Stadt Herne from December 2019 to May 2024, holding positions as Stellvertretende Fachbereichsleitung and within the Stabsstelle Digitalisierung, focusing on initiatives such as Smart City projects and open data. Anja's extensive experience also includes a long tenure at Kreis Recklinghausen, where leadership was provided for Regional and Spatial Information Systems and management of the Emscher-Lippe area’s land use. Anja began the career at Umlandverband Frankfurt am Main with GIS consulting for traffic planning. Anja holds a Diplom Geographin from Ruhr University Bochum and a degree in Wirtschaftsförderung from Fachhochschule des Mittelstands.
