Matthew McKay

Matthew McKay is an experienced aviation professional currently serving as the UAS/Drone Operations Manager at Staffordshire University since January 2022. As the owner of MCKFLY AVIATION LIMITED, Matthew has been providing flight crew services and flight instruction since May 2010, focusing on UAS operations, operational safety cases, and innovative flight training solutions. Additional experience includes roles as an instructor and examiner at HALO Drones, Pro Video UAS/Drone Specialist at Scan Computers, and mentor at Resilient Pilot. Previous positions in commercial aviation include Senior First Officer for Thomas Cook Airlines Limited, First Officer for easyJet, PT Mandala Airlines, OLT Express Poland, and British Midland International. Matthew holds a Counselling Level 2 qualification from Warrington & Vale Royal College and completed education at Carmel Sixth Form College and St Gregory's Catholic High School.
