Axel Villamil

Axel Villamil has a diverse work experience in the creative and design field. Axel is the Founder, CEO, and Lead Designer at StageKeep since 2018. Axel also works as a Mentor at Founder Institute since 2022. Previously, they were a Creative Consultant at Clearco starting from November 2019. In 2010, they established Red Label Collective as Founder & Creative Director. Axel co-founded Obie & Ax Inc. in 2020 and worked until 2022. Axel also served as a Creative Director at Acquire from February 2019 to November 2019. Before that, Axel held various positions at Media Resources Inc. including Director of Creative Services & Lead UI and UX Designer, Lead UI and UX Designer & Front-End Designer, and Lead UI Designer, Front-End Designer & Marketing Lead, during the periods of September 2016 to February 2019 and December 2014 to September 2015. During their time at Media Resources Inc., Axel managed the Creative Department, provided design and content solutions, collaborated with cross-functional teams, and mentored software developers on design best practices.

Axel Villamil has a diverse education history. Axel attended Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained an International Baccalaureate Diploma. Afterward, they pursued higher education at the University of Toronto from 2011 to 2017. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science and Media Studies. Additionally, Axel attended Centennial College from 2015 to 2016 and received a Certificate in New Media Studies.

In terms of additional certifications, Axel obtained their Open Water Diver certification from PADI in January 2013. Later, in August 2020, they acquired the Basic Operations for Piloting Small RPAS certification from the Canada Revenue Agency - Agence du revenu du Canada.
