Michael Ebright

Director at Stamford Health

Dr. Ebright is currently Director of Thoracic Surgery at Stamford Health, as well as Vice-Chair of the Department of Surgery. He is also an attending surgeon at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia in Manhattan and Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.

He received his B.A. from Haverford College and M.D. from New York University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgical residency and cardiothoracic surgical residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center. His surgical oncology research fellowship and thoracic surgical oncology fellowship were completed at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Ebright was an Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Boston University School of Medicine where he practiced for over six years. There, he was Director of the Center for Thoracic Oncology and served as Co-Chair of the hospital-wide Value Analysis Committee.

At Stamford Health, Dr. Ebright’s primary focus is his clinical practice, largely focused on thoracic malignancies. He was instrumental in establishing Stamford’s Lung Cancer Screening Program, as well as the Perioperative Optimization Program and the Heartburn, Reflux & Esophageal Specialty Center. Dr. Ebright currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Stamford Health Medical Group, as well as multiple hospital committees.

Dr. Ebright is academically active, widely published in the areas of lung cancer and esophageal disease. He is a member of multiple surgical societies and serves on the Executive Committee of the New York General Thoracic Surgical Club.

Dr. Ebright resides in Stamford with his wife Deena and their two children. Dr. Deena Ebright is an internist with SHMG practicing at the New Canaan location.
