Rob Cleasby

Rob Cleasby has extensive experience in investment banking, beginning as a junior trader in London in 1992 and progressing to leadership roles across multiple global financial institutions. Currently serving as the Global Head of Bank Coverage for the Financial Institutions Group at Standard Bank Group since August 2012, Rob has previously held director positions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where responsibilities included managing the International Securities Lending Desk and overseeing significant capital programs. Additional experience includes senior roles at Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers, focusing on equity finance, prime brokerage, and risk management in various regions, including Southeast Asia and the Americas. Rob Cleasby holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where research focused on South African economic issues.
