Robin Lawther

Independent Non-Executive Director at Standard Chartered Bank

Robin was appointed an independent non-executive director of Standard Chartered PLC in July 2022.

Robin brings extensive international banking experience in global markets and financial institutions. In addition to a broad understanding of commercial banking, she has specialist knowledge in investment banking, mergers and acquisitions and capital raising.

Robin spent over 25 years at JP Morgan Chase in a number of senior executive positions. She has valuable executive and non-executive experience across global markets and has considerable understanding of regulatory and governance issues. From 2019 to 2021, she served as a non-executive director on the board of M&G plc. In January 2014, Robin joined Shareholder Executive, which later became UK Government Investments (UKGI), as a non-executive board member until retiring in May 2022.

Robin is an independent non-executive director of Nordea Bank Abp, the largest Nordic Bank, and a member of its Remuneration & People Committee. She is also an independent board member of Ashurst LLP and a member of the advisory board at Aon PLC.
