James Aird

James is responsible for all of Standard Life Aberdeen’s strategic partnerships including Heng An Standard Life, HDFC AMC, HDFC Life, Phoenix and Virgin Money. James also has responsibility for our corporate development activities which include mergers, acquisitions and corporate disposals. As part of his responsibilities, he has also served as non-executive director of HDFC Asset Management since 2009.

James joined Standard Life in 1997 and has previously held senior roles in strategy, international business development, distribution and Asia. Prior to Standard Life, James worked for AEGON where he was a fund manager and, latterly, responsible for marketing international equities into the USA.
