Mark Barthel is an international expert in sustainability and the circular economy with over 35 years of experience in driving sustainable innovation across various sectors, including agri-food, clothing, and electronics. Currently, Mark serves as Chair of the Technical Committee FT-037 on Food Loss and Waste at Standards Australia and is a member of the Strategic Advisory Board for the ARC Training Centre for Bioplastics and Biocomposites. Mark's past roles have included Special Adviser for product sustainability at WRAP, and Chief Operating Officer at Stop Food Waste Australia, where they led initiatives to halve food waste by 2030. Mark holds an MSc in Environmental Management from the University of Southampton and a BSc in Environmental Science from the University of Winchester.
