Nili Alon Amit, PhD has extensive work experience in various academic and research roles. Nili is currently serving as the Associate Director of the Holocaust Education Center at StandWithUs since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Visiting Research Scholar at the Younes & Soraya Nazarian Center for Israel Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, starting from 2020. Here, they focused on projects related to Israeli literature and education, including their book exploring the concept of happiness in Hebrew literature.
From 2013 to 2021, Nili Alon Amit was a Faculty Member at Kibbutzim College, where they taught in the Humanities Department and the Interdisciplinary Humanities MA Program. Additionally, in 2020, they were a Scholar in Residence at Sinai Temple's West LA Profits. Nili also held the position of Israel Institute Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, from 2019 to 2020, where they taught courses on multicultural education, happiness in literature, and happiness in Jewish literature.
In 2016, Nili Alon Amit was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Mandel School for Educational Leadership, where they worked on a research project on contemporary Israeli philosophy of education, which was published in Curriculum and Teaching in 2018.
Nili Alon Amit, PhD, completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Ancient Philosophy from the University of Haifa in 2013. Prior to this, they obtained an MA Studies in Philosophy from Tel Aviv University between 2000 and 2005, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Literature and Art History from Tel Aviv University between 1997 and 2000. Nili also attended Bonn American High School from 1992 to 1995.
