Christine Doherty

Christine Doherty, LCSW, currently serves as a Lung and Heart-Lung Transplant Social Worker at Stanford Health Care, a position held since January 2020. With over four years of experience at Stanford, Christine focuses on collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to address the psychosocial needs of patients undergoing transplantation, conducting assessments and providing therapeutic services. Prior roles include Medical Social Worker II at Kaiser Permanente, where crisis intervention and care coordination for families were central responsibilities, and Program Coordinator at Gatepath, empowering individuals with special needs. Christine earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Denver and a Bachelor’s in Social Work from George Fox University, and has a rich background in various social work settings, including hospice care and early childhood development programs. Notably, Christine recently presented research on lung transplant patients affected by COVID-19 at a national conference.
