Nigam Shah serves as Chief Data Scientist and Associate CIO for Data Science at Stanford Health Care since October 2018, in addition to holding several roles at Stanford University School of Medicine, including Professor of Medicine and Biomedical Data Science, Associate Dean, and Associate Professor of Medicine (Biomedical Informatics) since March 2007. Nigam's expertise lies in bringing AI technologies to the clinical environment and advancing data-driven medicine through the analysis of large unstructured data sets. Additionally, Nigam has a background in researching the organization of biomedical information for actionable insights and has previously worked as a Research Intern at IBM Research. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Biosciences from Penn State University, a post-doctoral degree in Biomedical Informatics from Stanford University, and an MBBS from Maharaja Sayajirao University.
