Teresa Nguyen

Teresa Nguyen, MD, is a faculty physician at Stanford Health Care since 2020 and co-founder of The Lighthouse Initiative, an organization dedicated to supporting first-generation, low-income, and minority students through longitudinal sponsorship. Previously, Teresa Nguyen served as a resident physician at Kaiser Permanente and as a venture fellow at Sofinnova Investments, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical investment firm. In 2017, Teresa Nguyen contributed as a clinical instructor for the Stanford Medical Youth Science Program, focusing on enrichment for underrepresented students. Earlier in a research capacity at Genentech, Teresa Nguyen invented over 100 novel therapeutic molecules for chronic pain treatment. Education includes a Doctor of Medicine from Stanford University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Stanford University.
