James Sweeney is a distinguished academic and industry leader with extensive experience in management science and engineering. As a Professor at Stanford University since 1971, Sweeney founded the Precourt Energy Efficiency Center in 2006, which operated until its dissolution in 2018. Prior to this, Sweeney served as Director at Hara Software, Inc. from 2009 to 2011, and as Director of the Office of Energy Systems Modeling & Forecasting at the US Federal Energy Administration from 1974 to 1976 during a pivotal period of energy policy development. Sweeney holds a PhD in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
