Jorge Ramos

Executive Director, Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve

Jorge Ramos, Ph.D. is currently the Executive Director and Associate Director of the Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve, as well as a Lecturer in the Department of Biology at Stanford University, a position held since May 2019. Prior to joining Stanford, Ramos served as the Manager for Oceans and Climate at Conservation International from March 2017 to May 2019 and was a Research Associate at the Center for Biodiversity Outcomes at Arizona State University from August 2016 to February 2017. Additional roles include Sustainability Science for Sustainable Schools Fellow at Arizona State University and various positions with the Ecological Society of America, Shoals Marine Laboratory, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Ramos holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Life Sciences from Arizona State University, a Master's degree in Forestry from the University of Washington, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Texas at El Paso, among other educational qualifications.
