Laura Goode

Associate Director, Student Programs, Public Humanities at Stanford University

Laura Goode is an accomplished writer, editor, and communications professional. Laura is currently the Associate Director for Student Programs, Public Humanities at Stanford University.

Goode began their career in 2008 as a Communications Instructor at John Jay College. In 2010, they transitioned to writing and producing, and has since published a novel for young adults (SISTER MISCHIEF, Candlewick Press) and worked as a communications director and contributing editor for Bright Ideas Magazine.

In 2017, Goode was awarded a Steinbeck Fellowship and spent a year as a Visiting Scholar at San Jose State University. Laura is currently at work on a book about the history of witch hunts in America.

Laura Goode graduated from Columbia University in the City of New York with a Master's of Fine Arts in Writing. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in English and Comparative Literature from the same school, with a focus in the Writing Program.

Laura Goode reports to Jeffrey Schwegman, Assistant Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences.
