Mark McVay

Mark McVay is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in defense, energy, and technology sectors. Currently serving as the Department of Defense Liaison at Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, McVay leads initiatives on resilience efforts, while enhancing the application of Stanford research at military bases. As a Senior Advisor at The Ad Hoc Group, Inc. and Strategic Advisor for Renewell Energy, McVay supports energy transition start-ups. McVay has also played a pivotal role as an Advisor and Investor for Pano, focusing on wildfire detection systems. Previously, as Chief Commercial Officer at PowerAdvocate, McVay significantly expanded the customer base and transitioned the business model to Software/Data, generating over $50 million in revenue. McVay holds an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, an MSE in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, and a BS in Control Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy. Military experience includes serving as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy.
