Tim Stearns

Tim Stearns currently serves as Dean and Professor at The Rockefeller University since September 2022. Prior to this role, Tim held various positions at Stanford University, including Professor Emeritus, acting Dean of Research, Professor of Biology, Senior Associate Vice Provost of Research, and Chair of the Department of Biology from August 1993 to present. Additionally, Tim has been an advisor to US Government Agencies since June 2002 and served as Professor of Genetics at Stanford University Medical Center from 1997 until September 2022. Tim's educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, and a Bachelor of Science in Genetics from Cornell University.
