Shawn Tiernan

Shawn Tiernan is a seasoned accounting professional with extensive experience in managing financial operations across various sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Accountant at Stanley Martin Homes since July 2018, Shawn oversees the accounting functions for over 50 communities within three homebuilding divisions, leading the monthly close processes. Previously, at Amtrak from August 2012 to April 2018, Shawn excelled as a Senior Contract Analyst, directing audits that recovered $1.2 million in findings, and managed the invoice administration for multiple host railroads. Additional roles include Auditor/Accountant at the Virginia Department of Treasury, Staff Accountant at Blackwell Financial Services and Valderas and Fishel PC, and Estate Manager for the Estate of Norma Saul. Shawn holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance from Virginia Commonwealth University.
