David Boone has a diverse work experience, with their most recent role being the Chief Executive Officer of STAPLES Canada since 2018. In this position, they successfully transformed the company by revitalizing its value proposition, strengthening the omni-channel model, and pursuing strategic partnerships and acquisitions. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid pandemic, they managed to keep vital supply lines open for businesses, governments, and individuals working from home, resulting in double digital earnings growth for the company. Prior to their role at STAPLES Canada, Boone held various leadership positions at TD, including EVP, Partnerships & Shared Services, EVP TD Bank USA and Mass Affluent Segment, and EVP, TD Bank USA & Corporate Strategy Officer. At TD, they were responsible for managing P&L, strategic planning, wealth management programs, and driving diversity initiatives. Before their time at TD, Boone worked at Loblaw Companies Ltd, where they served as Sr. Vice President & Business Unit Director and was responsible for leadership of a national meat/seafood business unit. David also held executive positions overseeing Loblaw's Warehouse Club Format Stores, the foodservice/wholesale division, and PC Financial & President's Choice Bank, where they played a key role in building a profitable digital banking business and a credit card business.
David Boone obtained an EMBA degree in Business from the Schulich School of Business at York University and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. David also earned a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) from McMaster University.
