Cristina Gonzalez has extensive work experience in various legal roles. Cristina began their career as a Contracts Negotiator at the U.S. Department of Navy, Fleet and Industrial Supply Center from April 1992 to June 1998. Cristina then worked as an Associate at Bingham McCutchen from September 1998 to January 2001, followed by a role as Corporate Counsel at iBasis from February 2001 to July 2002. Cristina returned to Bingham McCutchen and served as Counsel and Associate from September 2002 to September 2006. Cristina then joined Teradyne, Inc. as a Sr. Corporate Counsel from September 2006 to July 2008.

Cristina joined Staples in July 2008 and held various positions over the years. Cristina initially served as a Senior Company Counsel, where they provided legal support in finance and international operations until December 2012. Cristina was then promoted to Vice President, Associate General Counsel and led a team of legal professionals supporting corporate functions, global M&A projects, and board and public company matters until July 2016. Their next role at Staples was Vice President, Deputy General Counsel. In this capacity, they oversaw multiple initiatives, including the integration efforts for the proposed Office Depot acquisition and cost-cutting programs, until November 2017. Lastly, Cristina rose to the role of Chief Legal Officer at Staples in November 2017. In this position, they have been responsible for overseeing all facets of the Legal Department, advising senior leadership, developing talent, and managing a significant budget.
