Ruth Bustios

Ruth Bustios has over 20 years of experience in the field of microbiology. Ruth began their career as a QC Microbiologist at Kimberly-Clark in 1998, where they were responsible for validating water pour plate and filtration methods, disinfectant testing, microbial stability testing, and validation of the Celsis Luminometer instrument. From 2004 to 2012, they worked as a QC Microbiologist at Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories and a Tutor at Front Range Community College. From 2016 to 2020, they held various roles at GlobeImmune, Inc., Agilent Technologies, and ImmunityBio, including Senior Quality Control Specialist, Advanced Quality Analyst, and Senior Specialist QC Microbiology. Ruth was responsible for contract lab management, method remediation and development, microbial characterization and ID management, UV spectrum, endotoxin, TOC, bioburden, chlorine, and conductivity analysis, and EM and water data trending reports review. In 2019, they were a consultant for RBustios Consultant, LLC, and in 2020 they were a Lead Scientist Microbiology at AGC Biologics, where they were the shift lead of analysts on Quality Micro operations, responsible for the lab set up and launch for start up operations, and the equipment owner and validation of Micro TOC and Endotoxin for GMP use. Ruth is currently a Lead QC Microbiologist at STAQ PHARMA.

Ruth Bustios received their Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Parasitology from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in 1995. Ruth then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Microbiology and Cell Science at the University of Florida, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
