Scott Horst has worked in various marketing leadership roles throughout their career. Scott started their career as the Vice President of Marketing at Compellent in 2003, where they led a marketing team and played a key role in launching the company from a start-up to an industry leader. During their time at Compellent, they helped build a successful channel sales model, executed an IPO, and achieved revenue growth and profitability.
In 2011, they joined Dell EMC as the Executive Director of Marketing for Data Storage, where they managed a global team responsible for data storage marketing. Scott later became the Vice President of Marketing Communications, overseeing product marketing, public relations, demand generation, sales enablement, and events for a $2 billion business.
In 2018, Scott Horst joined Lumen Technologies as the Vice President of Marketing - Brand, Creative & Digital. In this role, they managed a 100-person team responsible for product marketing, brand, campaigns, in-house creative and content, sales enablement, Lumen.com, events, and sponsorships.
Most recently, they have been appointed as the Chief Marketing Officer at Star in 2023.
Scott Horst attended St. Olaf College where they obtained a BA degree in Economics. Scott later pursued an MBA degree in Marketing at the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management.
