Thisaru Gunawardana

Thisaru Gunawardana is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in financial management and accounting. Currently serving as Finance Manager at Star Garments Group since March 2018, Thisaru oversees budgeting, accounts preparation, and financial reporting for multiple factories while managing a team of eight. Prior experience includes roles as Accountant at The Hayleys Group, where responsibilities involved preparing consolidated financial statements and annual reports, and as Accountant at The Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC. Earlier, Thisaru commenced a career as a Bank Assistant at Peoples Bank. Educational qualifications include a BSc in Finance from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, and recognition as a gold medal winner from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.
