Matt Welch

Matt Welch is an experienced Executive Sports Editor at Star Local Media, a position held since October 2013 after being promoted from a previous role. In this capacity, Matt oversees the sports coverage for 14 community newspapers with a combined circulation of 270,000 and is responsible for developing and implementing departmental strategies for year-round sports reporting. Prior to this, Matt served as a Games Supervisor at Main Event Entertainment from March 2002 to September 2009, where responsibilities included managing a staff of approximately 25 employees and handling customer relations. Matt earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma between 2004 and 2008.
