Al Olson has a diverse work experience in various roles at the Star Tribune. Al started with the company in 1999 as a Finance Leader in Manufacturing and later became the Finance Director for Circulation from 2004 to 2008. In 2009, they took on the role of Director of Database Marketing & Analysis, where they designed and implemented consumer marketing and retention strategies. In 2014, they worked as a Marketing Solutions Advisor for Inka Solutions, providing consulting services primarily in the newspaper industry. Since 2015, Al has served as the Newsprint Operations Manager and later as the Director of Transportation & Logistics at Star Tribune.
Al Olson attended the University of Minnesota, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Geography and Statistics. Al also studied at the University of Minnesota Duluth, completing their undergraduate education. In addition to their formal education, they obtained certifications in Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, as well as Unconscious Bias, from LinkedIn in 2020.
