Courtney (C.J.) Sinner has a diverse and extensive work experience. Courtney (C.J.) started their career as a staff reporter for The Minnesota Daily, covering student groups and campus events. Courtney (C.J.) later became an associate editor, managing a team of reporters and overseeing weekly news meetings. Courtney (C.J.) also gained experience as a freelance writer, fact-checker, and features intern for the St. Paul Pioneer Press, where they contributed to various projects and wrote news briefs.

Sinner then joined MinnPost.com as a project contributor and intern, collaborating on projects with database capabilities. Courtney (C.J.) further expanded their skills as a multimedia producer for the St. Paul Pioneer Press, where they worked on page design, photo editing, and video production.

In 2010, Sinner became an online producer for the Bismarck Tribune, with responsibilities including website content presentation, social media promotion, multimedia content development, and news graphics creation.
