Mike Rice has a decade of experience in the newspaper industry. Mike spent nine years at Star Tribune, where they worked as the Design Director and Features Design Director. In these roles, they oversaw the planning and design of the newspaper's features sections and coordinated storytelling assets for print and digital editions. Prior to that, Mike worked at Arizona Daily Star for eight years as the Visual Team Leader, where they supervised a team of designers and graphic artists and managed the daily presentation and planning of projects. Before that, they worked as a Feature Design Team Leader at The Times of Northwest Indiana for six years, where they handled the production of feature sections and worked in various design roles. Mike started their career at the Jacksonville Journal-Courier as a Designer, primarily responsible for the layout of the sports section.
Mike Rice received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art with a graphic design emphasis from Eastern Illinois University from 1993 to 1997.
