Christopher Laing

Christopher Laing serves as the Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at Starboard Maritime Intelligence since November 2024 and is an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the University of Canterbury. Laing is also the Director at ingenum and previously held the position of Chief Product & Technology Officer at Qrious Limited. With extensive experience in AI and data science, Laing was the Director of AI and Data Science at NZTech and a Board Member at AI Forum NZ. At Xero, Laing excelled as the Head of Xero AI, overseeing AI systems and platforms. Laing's foundational experience includes roles at Allianz as Global Lead Data Scientist and positions at Blue Yonder GmbH. Academic credentials include a PhD in Applied Mathematics, a Bachelor of Laws, and a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Mathematics, all obtained at the University of Otago.
