Aaron Philippsen is a Mechanical Engineer at StarFish Medical since February 2015, with previous experience as a Research Engineer at the University of Victoria from September 2013 to February 2014, where an industry partnership project was executed involving project scope development and thermal performance analysis of an algae farming system. Academic accomplishments include conducting a lifecycle analysis of bio-ethanol from seaweed as part of a Master’s thesis, with findings communicated to government and media, and presentations at international conferences. Additionally, significant contributions as a Research Assistant involved the creation of a turbine testing device and estimating the costs and emissions for alternative fuel production at IESVic. Aaron holds a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree, both in Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Victoria, as well as an Advanced Technologist Diploma from Camosun College.
