Andrew Lang has been working in the theatre industry for over six years. Andrew started as an intern with the Kansas City Symphony in 2012 and then became the Executive Assistant for the Bach Aria Soloists in 2013. In this role, they created a comprehensive marketing plan to promote the organization's "A Night of Tango" event at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, which resulted in an attendance of more than 1,000 people. Andrew also coordinated BAS' "15K for 15 Yrs" Campaign, which aimed to raise $15,000 in honor of the organization's 15th anniversary. This goal was surpassed by more than $4,000. In addition, they redesigned BAS' website to make it more user-friendly and created a stronger social media presence for the organization through Twitter, Youtube, Flickr, LinkedIn and Facebook.
In September 2013, Lang began working as the Marketing and Development Assistant for Unicorn Theatre. In this role, they organized fundraising letter distribution for the theatre to raise $1 million to buy their building. Andrew also contacted and secured potential restaurants, liquor distributors and silent auction donors for the Unicorn's 2014 "The Red and Black Bash" spring gala.
Lang is currently working as the Donor Relations Manager at Starlight Theatre. In this role, they manage all aspects of donor relations, stewardship and giving programs. Andrew also works closely with the Development team on various fundraising initiatives and events.
Andrew Lang has a journalism degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and specializes in strategic communications.
