Laurel Olsthoorn, CPHR Candidate

Laurel Olsthoorn is a CPHR Candidate with extensive experience in the human resources and finance fields. Laurel began their career in 2010 as an Administrative Assistant at Manulife, where they quickly advanced to a Data Intelligence Analyst and Continuing Education Specialist. In 2017, they joined Mercedes-Benz Canada as a Data Analyst. In 2018, Laurel began working at Starling Minds as their People and Culture Manager and Manager of Finance and Talent. In this role, they maintained all financial records for the company, recruited, hired, and onboarded new employees, and managed the office.

Laurel Olsthoorn holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Human Resources Management Certificate from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, a Professional Bookkeeping Certificate from Langara College, and an American Sign Language (ASL) Certificate from Conestoga College. In June 2022, they are set to become a CPHR Candidate from CPHR BC & Yukon.
