Jim Parm

Jim has had a distinguished career leading international technology companies. Most recently Jim was President of Inmarsat Solutions; the $1.4 billion/yr market-facing entity for Inmarsat PLC, a London based satellite communications company, where he lead the development and execution of Inmarsat’s global go to market strategy. Prior to joining Inmarsat, Mr. Parm was President and Chief Executive Officer of Stratos Global Corporation, a publicly traded Canadian company, where he oversaw the strategic direction and global operations of the $650M satellite services company. During this time, Mr. Parm led the transformation of Stratos from a regionally focused North American company to a global leader in satellite services. Prior to joining Stratos, Mr. Parm was President and Chief Executive Officer of Shell Offshore Services Company where he led strategy development and execution for the telecom startup, which provided remote communications services to the energy industry.

In addition to his work with StarTech.com, Jim is a Partner in Inc. CEO Project where he provides business strategy advice to CEOs and a director of the nonprofit Michigan Tech Fund. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and an MBA from Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business and is a member of the Michigan Technological University Electrical and Computer Engineering Academy.
