Jose Barrera

Jose Barrera has a long and varied work experience. Jose began their career in 2007 as an Aerospace Electrical and Environmental Systems Craftsman for the United States Air Force. In 2011, they were promoted to Staff Sergeant for the Air Force Special Operations Command. After leaving the military, they began working as a Business Consultant for Fiserv in 2014. In 2018, they took on two roles, Senior Direct Sales Advisor for CardConnect and Technology Sales Consultant for TriNet. In 2019, they were appointed to Board Member for SC AeroTech and Strategic Advisor for EBITDA AI. In 2020, they became CEO & Founder of StartupStarter and in 2021 they were appointed Strategic Advisor for Throttle Payments Co. Finally, in 2022, they were hired as a Venture Scout for Calm Company Fund.

Jose Barrera has a diverse educational background. Jose completed a Startup School program at Y Combinator, a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations at the University of Phoenix, an Associate of Science - AS in Aeronautics/Aviation/Aerospace Science and Technology, General at the Community College of the Air Force, and a Leadership and Management program at the Community College of the Air Force. Additionally, they obtained a Secret Security Clearance from the United States Department of Defense in August 2007.
