Giorgi Karkashadze

Giorgi Karkashadze is a skilled budget analyst with a strong background in accounting and finance. Currently serving at the State Audit Office of Georgia since September 2021, Giorgi has held the positions of budget analyst and budget analyst-assistant. Prior experience includes a tenure as chief accountant at Opener LTD from February 2020 to August 2021 and roles as assistant financial manager at Financial-Accounting Group ACA LTD from October 2017 to August 2021. Giorgi holds a Master's degree in Economics from the International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University, completed in July 2021, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Tbilisi State University, obtained in July 2019. Early education includes a high school diploma from N41 Public School in Kutaisi, focusing on physics and mathematics.

The SAO represents the modern, independent and successful audit institution with the highest professional standards, the interference in the activity of which is prohibited by the law. With its work SAO supports the parliament in overseeing the activities of the government and significantly contributes to the Parliamentary oversight over the government. The SAO presents findings to the Parliament on the activities of the government entities and thus promotes their accountability to the parliament and the general public.
