Rebekah Cochran

Rebekah Cochran currently serves as the Alaska State Public Defender, a position held since August 2023. Prior experience includes a role as Law Clerk for Justice Matthew McDermott at the Iowa Supreme Court from August 2022 to July 2023, and as a Legal Intern at the United States Attorneys' Office for the Middle District of Tennessee in early 2022. Rebekah has also worked as a Research Assistant in Corporate Crimes for Professor Mihailis Diamantis at the University of Iowa College of Law, where a Doctor of Law degree was earned from 2019 to 2022. Additional roles include Managing Editor and Student Writer for the Journal of Corporation Law, along with various legal internships at the Iowa Department of Public Safety and the Federal Public Defender. Prior to pursuing a legal career, Rebekah held positions as Territory Account Manager at Levolor and as NSG Territory Account Manager at Hunter Douglas. Rebekah holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Middle Tennessee State University, obtained in 2012.
