Rebecca Kulekowskis

Rebecca Kulekowskis is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in tax law and public service. Currently serving as the Chairperson of the Board of Appeals for the State of Illinois since September 2022, Kulekowskis oversees the Illinois Department of Revenue's Board of Appeals. Prior to this role, Kulekowskis worked as the Deputy General Counsel for Income Tax Litigation at the Illinois Department of Revenue from September 2016 to March 2023 and served as a Special Assistant Attorney General in the same department from August 1999 to September 2016. Additionally, Kulekowskis imparted knowledge as an Adjunct Professor at The John Marshall Law School, teaching State and Local Taxation to LL.M students from January 2006 to September 2016. Kulekowskis began a career in tax consulting at Ernst & Young for a brief period in 1998-1999. Educationally, Kulekowskis holds a Juris Doctorate and an LL.M in Corporate Taxation from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law (1994-1998) and a BBA in Business Administration and Management from St. Norbert College (1990-1994).
