Derek A. Jones

Derek A. Jones possesses extensive experience in taxation and law, currently serving as Chief Appeals Officer at the Maine Board of Tax Appeals since March 2020, where responsibilities include overseeing taxpayer dispute resolutions with Maine Revenue Services. In addition, Derek has been a Cooperating Faculty member in Business at the University of Maine since January 2017, teaching subjects such as Financial Accounting and Business Law. Prior experience includes a partnership at Acadia Law Group, LLC from September 2017 to March 2020. Derek's educational background includes a Master of Laws in Taxation from The University of Alabama School of Law, a Juris Doctor from the University of Maine School of Law, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maine, and a Bachelor of Arts in History, all achieved with honors.
