Lindsay Hammes

Lindsay Hammes is an experienced communications professional with a strong background in public relations and strategic communications, currently serving as the Press Secretary for the Maine Department of Health and Human Services since March 2021. Previously, Lindsay held various leadership roles at the Maine CDC, including Director of Communications and Director of Vaccine Communications. Prior to this, Lindsay worked at Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy as a Senior Communications and PR Strategist. Lindsay's career includes experience as Communications Director for the Mainers for Responsible Gun Ownership campaign and extensive work at FleishmanHillard, where a focus on food and health policy combined with communications strategies was developed. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in European Politics & Policy from KU Leuven and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Communications from Stonehill College.
