Chief of Staff to First Lady Tammy Snyder Murphy at State of New Jersey

Stephanie Lagos is currently the Chief of Staff to First Lady Tammy Snyder Murphy at the State of New Jersey. Prior to that, they served as Senior Policy Advisor for Phil Murphy's gubernatorial campaign from March 2017 to November 2017. From November 2014 to March 2017, Stephanie served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director for Assemblyman Gary S. Schaer. Stephanie has also worked as Finance Director for Roy Cho's congressional campaign in June 2014 and as Climate Change Policy for UNDP in May 2013. Stephanie's public service began as a Peace Corps Volunteer from January 2009 to August 2011 where they wrote and procured $15,000 in USAID project grants, developed and implemented a village compost latrine project, managed six large-scale income generating alternative livelihood projects, initiated and coordinated a community bicycle project that brought 360 bicycles to rural villages, created partnerships with local and international NGOs to increase project access, wrote and submitted project sustainability reports and final assessment papers, founded the Environmental Education Group focusing on community resource education, and taught English and Environmental Science at Prince’s Town Junior High School Levels 1-3.

Stephanie Lagos has a Master of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology, Ecology & Environmental Science from Christopher Newport University.
