Ed Arabas

Ed Arabas, PMP, has over 25 years of experience in the field of geospatial information technology and public sector IT management. Currently serving as a Senior Legislative IT Analyst for the State of Oregon since May 2007, Ed provides IT expertise for state government budget activities and administers a legislative performance management system. Previously, Ed held roles as a Lead Operations/Policy Analyst, overseeing significant IT projects with a portfolio of approximately $500 million. Ed has been actively involved in various leadership positions, including serving on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer for the National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC), and contributing to the Board of Directors for the GIS Certification Institute (GISCI). As an owner of Geospatial Consulting, LLC, Ed provided GIS consulting services and has a solid background working as a GIS Business Analyst and consultant for the State of Oregon and the Department of Transportation. Ed holds a Master’s degree in Geography from Penn State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Modern European History from the University of Washington.
