Svetha Ambati

Svetha Ambati currently serves as a Senior Housing Advisor and previously held the position of Housing Policy Advisor with the State of Oregon since June 2023. Prior experience includes roles such as Equitable Development Analyst II and Equity Strategist at the City of Portland from May 2021 to March 2023, and Senior Planner and Planner at the City and County of San Francisco from June 2017 to May 2021. Svetha has contributed significantly to urban planning initiatives, including as a Regional Planning Assistant II with the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and as a Housing Intern with the City of Santa Monica. Svetha's background also includes business intelligence and data analysis roles at Apple and Square, as well as team management at Google. Education encompasses a Master’s Degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from UCLA, and degrees in Geography, Urban Planning, Architecture, and Economics from Portland State University and the University of Washington. Current projects focus on creating healthy design guidelines for development in unincorporated communities.
