Ibrar Butt

Ibrar Butt has a diverse work experience in the financial and audit industry. Ibrar has held various positions throughout their career, starting from their time as a Project Officer at British Council in 2009. Ibrar then worked as a Tax Associate at KPMG UK, specializing in Tax Investigations and Settlements from 2010 to 2014. Following that, they worked as an Assistant Manager at KPMG UK in the FSAS team, focusing on assurance and audit projects for investment and custody banks. During this time, they also served as a Client Asset (CASS) SME, providing expertise in regulatory requirements and reporting to stakeholders.

In 2017, Ibrar joined State Street Bank & Trust Co. as an Assistant Vice President in Corporate Audit. Ibrar initially started as a Client Asset (CASS) SME on a secondment from their previous employer and was later hired permanently. In this role, they managed audit engagements, reported findings to senior stakeholders, and contributed to working efficiency and cross-global knowledge sharing. Ibrar left State Street Bank & Trust Co. in 2019 to pursue volunteer work with Charity Right in South East Asia, where they utilized their skills to help communities in need.

In 2020, Ibrar joined ACOM Solutions, Inc. as an Audit & Assurance Consultant, where they delivered internal audit projects and managed external client relationships. Ibrar provided assurance for governance and control environments and helped the business manage their risk and explore new revenue streams. Ibrar then moved to OANDA, where they worked as a CASS Manager, responsible for operational tasks, managing relationships, and proposing improvements to existing control environments.

Most recently, in 2021, Ibrar returned to State Street Bank & Trust Co. as an Assistant Vice President in Corporate Audit. Ibrar works in the State Street Global Advisors team and also covers their previous role as a Client Asset (CASS) SME. Ibrar is involved in documenting the CASS Corporate Audit plan for future years and regularly interacts with senior stakeholders and governance committees.
