Max Lerner

Max Lerner is a seasoned compliance professional currently serving as Managing Director and Global Head of Sanctions Compliance and Anti-Bribery & Corruption Compliance at State Street, a position held since June 2016. In this role, Max oversees the global sanctions compliance team, leads the execution of the sanctions compliance program, and represents the program to regulators. Additionally, Max is the Committee Chair of the AML & Sanctions Committee at the Association of Global Custodians and previously served on the advisory board of the Association of Certified Sanctions Specialists. Prior experience includes legal regulatory counsel and legal counsel roles at Standard Chartered Bank, focusing on BSA/AML, sanctions, and regulatory issues. Max holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a B.A. in History and Political Science from Colgate University.
