David Lavallee

University Professor And SUNY Provost Emeritus at State University of New York at New Paltz

David Lavallee is a seasoned academic leader with extensive experience in higher education administration. Currently serving as University Professor and SUNY Provost Emeritus at SUNY New Paltz since August 2013, David Lavallee focuses on professional development for science and mathematics master teachers as part of the NYS Master Teacher Program. Prior roles include Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for the State University of New York, where David Lavallee managed academic policies for 64 campuses, and Provost at SUNY New Paltz, overseeing academic and support programs as well as budgetary matters. Earlier in the career, David Lavallee held various positions at CUNY - City College and Hunter College, contributing to academic program oversight and restructuring initiatives. David Lavallee holds a Ph.D. and S.M. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Chicago, alongside two Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry from St. Bonaventure University.
