Rodrigo Kong has a diverse work experience in the field of medicine. Rodrigo started as a Resident Physician at Kings County Hospital/ SUNY Downstate in 2010 and later became a Physician at Staten Island University Hospital in 2014. Throughout their career, they have held various roles such as Director of Simulation, Director of Faculty Development in the Department of Emergency Medicine, and Medical Director at Staten Island University Hospital, Patient Safety Institute. Additionally, they have served as the Director of Yushinkan since 1999.

Rodrigo Kong received a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Sculpture and Industrial Design from the University of Michigan in 1996. In 1996, they also obtained a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Sculpture from the New York Academy of Art. Rodrigo later completed their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn from 2006 to 2010.
