Dr. Karan Kakouei

Dr. Karan Kakouei is a Senior Data Analyst at Statista since September 2021, with prior experience as a Data Analyst at IGB-Berlin from March 2019 to August 2021, focusing on the environmental consequences of global change through the organization and analysis of large datasets. Previously, Dr. Kakouei was a PhD Research Scientist at IGB Berlin from March 2014 to December 2018, where statistical analyses and machine learning techniques were applied to climate and environmental data. Earlier roles include Research Fellow at the University Duisburg Essen, an intern at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and a consultant for the Green Vision Ramsar Association. Dr. Kakouei holds a Doctorate in Natural Sciences from Freie Universität Berlin and two Master's Degrees in Environmental Sciences and Transnational Ecosystem-based Water Management.
