Gaurav Kumar Ganotra, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Gaurav Kumar is currently working as a Senior Data Scientist at Statista since March 2023. Prior to this, Gaurav worked as a Business Intelligence Associate at atai Life Sciences from March 2022 to March 2023.

Before joining atai Life Sciences, Gaurav held various roles at CENTOGENE. Gaurav Kumar served as a Senior Data Scientist from April 2021 to March 2022 and as a Machine Learning Expert from June 2019 to April 2021.

Gaurav's journey in research and academia began with their role as a PhD Student at the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS) from August 2015 to May 2019. Here, they focused on the development and application of different computer simulation approaches to investigate drug-receptor binding kinetics. Gaurav Kumar'swork involved using Machine Learning and Chemoinformatics approaches to develop predictive models for drug-binding kinetics. Gaurav Kumar also contributed to the development of a Computational Toolbox for drug-binding kinetics. Prior to their doctoral studies, they worked as a Research Assistant at HITS from August 2014 to July 2015, where they applied Molecular Dynamics and Brownian Dynamics simulation techniques to study drug-binding kinetics and implemented algorithms for in-house software used for running Brownian Dynamics simulations.

Gaurav also gained research experience as a Research Assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Algorithms and Scientific Computing from April 2013 to April 2014.

Starting their career, Gaurav worked as a Programmer Analyst at Cognizant from August 2011 to August 2012. In this role, they were involved in database development and programming in C++ in the Banking and Finance domain. Gaurav Kumar also worked on customizing applications for the BASE24-atm framework used for transaction management of ATM machines.

Gaurav Kumar Ganotra, PhD, has an extensive educational background in the field of science and technology. Gaurav Kumar started their academic journey in 2005, graduating from K.M Public School in Bhiwani with a High School Diploma focused on Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

In 2007, they continued their education at Vellore Institute of Technology, where they obtained a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Biotechnology. This laid a strong foundation for their future studies and career.

Gaurav then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Life Science Informatics from The University of Bonn, graduating in 2015. During their time at Bonn, they gained a deeper understanding of the intersection between life sciences and informatics.

From 2015 to 2019, Gaurav attended Heidelberg University, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computational Chemistry and Molecular Modeling. This program allowed him to specialize in using computational techniques to study chemical and molecular interactions.

Aside from their formal education, Gaurav has also obtained several certifications to enhance their skill set. Gaurav Kumar became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate and an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner through Amazon Web Services (AWS) in September 2020 and August 2020, respectively. In June 2016, they obtained the SAS® Certified Base Programmer for SAS®9 certification from SAS Institute Inc.
