Alissa Ambrose

Alissa Ambrose is a seasoned professional in photography and multimedia, currently serving as the Director of Photography & Multimedia at Stat News since September 2015, overseeing editorial content and producing podcasts such as The Readout LOUD and First Opinion. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Photo Editor and Deputy Director of Multimedia & Creative at STAT, Senior Photo Editor at NationSwell, and Photo Editor at CBS Interactive. Alissa also participated in a journalism-exchange program through the International Center for Journalists in Moscow, interned at Time Magazine, and reported for DNAinfo. An educator as well, Alissa developed photography programs for Urban Arts in underfunded public schools. Academic credentials include an M.A. in Journalism from Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY and a B.F.A. in Photography and Imaging from New York University.
