Gloria Oñate Peláez

Gloria Oñate Peláez has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Gloria started their career as a Project Manager and Translator at Festival de Málaga Cine Español in 2005. Gloria then worked as a Spanish Teacher at Cervantes International Spanish Language School in 2006, followed by a Teaching Assistant position at Middlebury College from 2006 to 2007.

From 2007 to 2008, Gloria worked as a Project Manager and Translator at DL Multimedia, where they coordinated multilingual videogames localization projects and translated TV shows for dubbing. Gloria then moved on to GameLoc Localisation Services S.L., where they worked as a Project Manager, coordinating videogames localization projects and performing linguistic testing.

In 2009, Gloria started their freelance career as a Professional Translator, specializing in IT, software localization, website localization, and SEO. Gloria worked as a freelance translator until 2016.

From 2013 to 2013, Gloria worked at Kaiser Associates as a Research Analyst and Translator. In 2016, they joined Booking.com as a Partner Content Specialist, responsible for maintaining and improving content accuracy on the website. Gloria later took on the role of Content Executive, creating and improving global content and handling partner content requests. Gloria also led best practice initiatives and supported travel communities during the Covid-19 crisis.

Most recently, in 2022, Gloria joined STAY as a UX Writer & Educational Content Strategist.

Gloria Oñate Peláez has a Bachelor's degree in Translation and Interpreting Studies from Universidad de Málaga, which they obtained from 2000 to 2004. Their field of study during this time included Linguistics, English, Italian, and French.

From 2005 to 2007, Gloria pursued a Master's Degree in the Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language at Universidad Pablo de Olavide.

In 2006 and 2007, they attended Middlebury College, focusing on Modern American Culture and Languages.

In 2008 and 2009, Gloria obtained a secondary school teaching certificate, known as C.A.P. (Certificado de Aptitud Pedagógica), specializing in English, from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

Furthermore, Gloria has obtained several additional certifications. In 2014, they completed a course on "Corrección y Estilo en Español" from Coursera. Recently, in June 2020, they obtained a certification in "Emotional Intelligence at Work" from Udemy, Inc. Additionally, in July 2020, they acquired certifications in "Content Writing" and "Visual Content" from Booking.com.
