Dirk Ahlgrim has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Dirk started their career in 1982 at Domino's Pizza, where they worked as a Corporate Trainer, Area Manager, and later as a Corporate Store Manager. Dirk then moved on to work as a Field Coordinator at Fiberclean of Pennsylvania, where they assisted in hiring and training field personnel and conducted on-site consultations with customers. Ahlgrim also worked as a General Store Manager at Aldi Foods, Inc, a Courier at Heaven Sent Couriers, and as a Director of Training and Store Opening Coordinator at Pizza Outlet / Vocelli Pizza.

In 2004, Ahlgrim joined Bruegger's Enterprises as an Area Manager, and was promoted to Regional Trainer in 2005 and Director of Training in 2010. Dirk left the company in 2012 and became a Freelance Trainer. In 2013, Ahlgrim joined Steak Escape Sandwich Grill as the Director of Training, and later as the Director of Operations and Supply Chain. Overall, Ahlgrim has extensive experience in training, operations, and management roles across various industries.

Dirk Ahlgrim attended the School of Computer Technology from 1982 to 1983, where they pursued a degree in Applied Business Programming with a focus on computer studies. In addition to their formal education, Dirk Ahlgrim obtained the ServSafe certification as an instructor and proctor from the National Restaurant Association in November 2010.

Even our thinking is fresh. You could say we got our start more than a hundred years ago, in the neighborhoods of old South Philly, where the Cheesesteak was first introduced and perfected. But we’re younger than that. In 1982, co-founders Ken Smith (right) and Mark Turner (left) opened the first Steak Escape store in the French Market in Columbus, Ohio. Like many of the Cheesesteak shops in South Philly, it was a small store. Which meant the only place big enough to fit the grill was right in front of their customers. But it turned out to be a good thing, because they discovered that people loved to watch the show as their meal was being prepared. Now there are nearly 150 Steak Escape restaurants across the U.S. and Mexico, and soon to be in Bahrain. Each one is built on the idea that the best way to treat a customer is to serve them quality food that’s freshly prepared before their eyes, in an atmosphere that’s full of fun.
